Milo Gibson (Hacksaw Ridge) and Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix) star in this inspirational true story of a small town high school football team who beat all the odds to win their state championship. After a crushing defeat ended their prior season, everyone counted the Abilene Eagles out of title contention. Facing doubts and personal challenges both on and off the field, it will take the guidance of their team chaplain (Gibson) and a surrogate father figure (Fishburne) for them to realize what they can achieve when they stand united as a team. In this uplifting underdog story, the Abilene Eagles will once again soar in an incredible comeback that will be forever remembered in sports history.

"Under the Stadium Lights" makes no effort to comprehend larger societal and systemic forces; it preaches grit, gumption, and a docile, unquestioning compassion. Go to Full Review Richard Whittaker Austin Chronicle Jun 5, 2021

Under the Stadium Lights is pee wee by comparison to Peter Berg's All-American. Go to Full Review Thelma Adams AARP Movies for Grownups Jun 4, 2021

Though this one doesn't equal the genre's gold standard -- Denzel Washington's Remember the Titans -- the audience can rely on multiple adversity-crushing character arcs, the inevitable Gipper speech and the rousing big-game finale. Go to Full Review Ema Sasic Next Best Picture Jun 27, 2022

This movie could have been inspiring, but there is so much lousy storytelling going on. The biggest cringe is the fact that every minority character we're introduced to has a stereotypical broken home life. Go to Full Review Victoria Luxford City AM Mar 2, 2022

Cindy K Jun 19, 2021 This film is very low budget and does nothing to make the people of Abilene look in much of a positive light. Too many TV sports cast to file the film out. Story is nice and it's good that they town got behind their football team but it doesn't do a good job of filling out the story. See more Craig Jun 8, 2021 Storyline was not fully developed for a movie. Some of the acting was mediocre. See more Sergio C @RT12501576 Jul 29, 2022 They done the impossible they severely messed up a good plot, poor editing and acting is so amateur I do better talking to a mirror See more Mar 2, 2022 I thought it was a good movie overall as we see the challenges both on the field and off the field that this Football team faced and how they got through it with the Grace of God. It would have been nice to know the follow-up of these boys and how they are doing today. See more Feb 20, 2022 Basic Football Movie !
