Critics Consensus

Wind Chill is a ghost story with a clunky and unpolished script that fails to keep viewers in suspense.

The passage to ex-rental DVD bins will be swift for this lethally pretentious bit of low-rent schlock.

Ropey, derivative and very, very boring horror-thriller.

There is a sort of cod-Stephen King kind of horror laid over Wind Chill, but it feels messy and unfocused.

Imagine a campfire story told by Jack London after downing a bottle of Jack Daniels. The chilly atmosphere would be in full force but the plotting might be a bit punch drunk.

awful. legitimately no redeeming qualities whatsoever, the only "okay" part is the acting from the main two actors who are trying their best with the terrible script. The plot is absolutely terrible and extrmely uninteresting, the scare factor is 0. Horrible horror movie.

Wind Chill (2007) This movie is very confusing, the script is terrible, it fails to develop any central characters and delivers a terrible ending.

Wind Chill is a modest but entertaining supernatural road thriller that works best when it focuses on cold, isolation and distrust. The premise is simple: a young woman shares a ride with a strange classmate, the trip goes wrong, and the snow-covered road becomes more threatening than expected. The film is uneven, and its supernatural side is not always as strong as its initial setup, but it has atmosphere, a few effective moments and a contained, austere approach to horror. Emily Blunt is the main reason to watch it: even in an early, modest role, she brings intelligence, vulnerability and strength to the film. It may not be memorable, but it is easy to watch, tense enough and good for a quiet, chilly horror night.

I haven't seen this movie in years. I loved it. One of Emily Blunts' early movies where she always played a cruel bitch.
