William L @RT97692574 Sep 20, 2026 Beautifully made, surprisingly engaging, yet quiet little movie that reveals the MC need for community & connection. See more Jack O @RT81003539 Jul 6, 2022 Very moving and very well-made. I like the low-key, unsensational approach to the subject matter. Is the story true? I doubt it - but it doesn't matter. This film explores some interesting ideas and is emotionally resonant. I liked it a lot. One complaint: I feel the English subtitles could have been better translated - they suffer quite a bit from "translationese", i.e. sounding stilted and unnatural in the target language. The quiet, thoughtful approach, along with the authentic portrayal of Juan's sensitive soul convinced me the story was real and needs to be shared. What I liked most and where I believe the movie triumphs is it's ability to showcase the personal impact a close encounter of a third kind could have on a human. Alan Stivelman should be applauded for this masterpiece. See more Carol S @RT48856984 Oct 22, 2019 I may have liked this movie better if you could read the subtitlea which were often stacked on top of each other such as "Speaking in a foreign language" appearing over the actual subtitle or it was so light and small on a light background. Frustrating. So you miss half of the important dialogue in order to understand the movie. It appeared to be an interesting story - DO SOMETHING ABOUT THOSE SUBTITLES so we can understand the important story See more Read all reviews
