SIMAS C @simas_eros 2 days ago It is a film that—without being erotic—becomes tense and unsettling; not because it strives to be so, but because the strangeness of its setting and the nature of its "forbidden" romance neither alleviate nor fuel that tension, creating a somewhat disquieting effect. The slow-blooming forbidden romance between two young women within an Orthodox Jehovah's Witness community—set against a backdrop of religious activities—is intriguing, not so much for the outcome, but above all for the very intention behind making such a film. The story feels so intimate, natural, and unique because it focuses on this small but meaningful part of Marike and Jaime’s lives. I especially loved how it portrays a teenage girl discovering her feelings for another girl while growing up in a deeply religious environment. You can really feel the conflict between love, faith, identity, and what she has been taught to believe. The relationship between Marike and Jaime also feels incredibly natural. The ending is heartbreaking, especially seeing Marike’s situation and how everything unfolds. It’s definitely sad and not the happy ending you might hope for, but I think that’s what makes it so memorable. It allows you to really feel the situation rather than simply watching it. this is such a beautiful and emotional WLW film about love, religion, identity, and growing up.❤️ See more Paula R @burnsapolo Sep 7, 2026 🎬 Title: You Can Live Forever 📅 Year: 2022 🌸 Genre: Drama / Romance ✨ Overall feeling: Tender, beautiful, and heartbreaking. ☁️ My thoughts: I absolutely loved this movie. You see the heartbreak coming from miles away, and you spend the whole movie knowing exactly where it’s going. And somehow, when it finally happens, it still breaks you. The story is incredibly tender, and the cinematography is gorgeous. 💔 What I loved: – The emotional story – The chemistry between the leads – The beautiful cinematography 🥀 What didn’t fully work for me: Nothing major. 🎀 Final mood rating: Beautifully devastating 🌙 Would I recommend it? Absolutely. 🍓 Perfect for: Anyone who loves bittersweet romances. See more becca D @RT78242960 Jul 21, 2026 I’m an EX JW & this movie was so boring. Should’ve casted actual ex JWs in this movie. No humor. Lacked substance and not interesting. A catholic could’ve done a better job at directing this movie See more Bill T. @btreakle Jun 11, 2026 “You Can Live Forever” This movie is 1 about a story about a young lady whose father suddenly passes away from a heart attack and her mother is so over stricken with grief that she sends her to live with her sister. The sister belongs to the religious sect jehovah witnesses it just proves to be very trying for this young lady who herself is struggling with the grief of the loss of her father. But soon she finds a friend her friend is so much like her both physically and mentally and this is their story. I’m not usually a fan of these types of movies but I really felt this one to move me and it was so believable a story of love.     See more Horror fan 4 @Horrorfan4life Jun 10, 2026 This was truly a sweet story about 2 girls who start as friends but over time develops into romance. The only problem is the community in which they reside in. There's nothing fresh about that part of the story. They try and hide it but ultimately they get caught. I wasn't really a fan of the ending cause in my opinion you shouldn't get your cake and be able to eat it too. Other than that this was a good time. Tim Treakle See more Read all reviews
