It’s a good, heartening send-off to a songwriter who was one of the very best this country has produced and to a sensibility that only this country could have produced – Mark Twain meets Man Ray with a side of heartbreak. Go to Full Review

While the occasion for Got Gold: A Celebration of John Prine... is a bit of a sad one, seeing so many people happily remembering Prine and signing his songs washes away those blues and reminds us of the power of great music. Go to Full Review

Patty Pettit, Southington, CT Nov 29 You Got Gold, the documentary of the memorial concerts for John Prine, is a glorious tribute to the man and his brilliant song-writing craft. The music chosen from the performances is the best of the best, and the clips peppered in from the man's own life and interviews with the artists who knew him best are powerful, poignant and meaningful. Bonnie Raitt, Tyler Childers, Brandi Carlisle, Lucinda Williams, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Jason Isbell - I mean, come on now! Hearing the long list of musical greats perform his music was a true honor for them and for the audience. Thank you Fiona and others for working so hard to create this gem. See more Colleen R @Piper15 14h I laughed. I cried. I sang. I remembered the words to every song. All those artists were tremendous. Such a great tribute for a world treasure. See more Misti C @cassidy498 1d As a lifelong John Prine fan, and a fan of so many of these incredible artists, this was a special experience. Loved the behind-the-scenes footage at the Ryman especially, and to learn more about John's influence on other musicians. Bravo, Prine family and team! See more Lazy C @LazyCobbler 1d Emotional tribute to one of the great songwriters and people. The film conveys the love that the artists feel for John. A must see for any Prine fan. See more beth p @BethSmart 1d I went into it familiar with You’ve Got Gold and how it helped Prine fans heal after his death. I wasn’t expecting this film to move me as much as it did. Several times I felt the front of my face getting tight from trying not to cry. Several times I gave up on stopping it and just let myself cry. Over the years I had seen many of the artists featured in the film when they either opened for Prine or joined him onstage for a NYE concert. This movie brought back so many good memories of the artist we all miss and love. I think I speak for many when I say we would love more documentaries or behind the scenes concert films featuring him and about him. If you’ve got gold comes anywhere near you, make the effort to go see it! See more Susan E. @truepredsfan 2d I was fortunate to be at the Ryman those nights. I have seen this film 3 times already and will see it again when I'm able to. The mix of stage performances , backstage discussions, and stories told by the artists are excellently done. It is a perfect tribute to John Prine. See more Read all reviews
